5 Fabulous Ways to Wear a Blanket Scarf

5 Ways to Wear a Blanket Scarf

A blanket scarf is such a versatile accessory and can be worn in so many different ways. Blanket scarves are so cozy and fun to wear. And they are wonderful for adding warmth and color to an outfit.

Can you tell yet that I love blanket scarves?

There endless numbers of ways you could wear a blanket scarf. With all that fabric, it can be challenging to finagle a blanket scarf into a wearable style, though. It can be helpful to have an idea of how you want it to look before you start to arrange it.

My scarf is from Modcloth and came in my fall Fab Fit Fun subscription box. (If you’re curious what else came in the Fab Fit Fun box along with the scarf, check out my unboxing post.) I love the variety of colors in it. It goes with so many different outfits!

Here are my 5 favorite ways to wear a blanket scarf:
  1. Belted
Fold the scarf in half along the diagonal. Drape the long side across your shoulders and bring the long points to the front. Add a belt, leaving free the portion that is draped down your back.

  2. Classic style
Again, fold the scarf in half diagonally. Then, wrap the scarf around your neck. Arrange the large side of the triangle in front, bringing the other two points over your shoulders and to the front as well. This is my favorite way to wear a blanket scarf. It just feels so cozy!

  3. Poncho style
Folded on the diagonal, drape and arrange the scarf over your shoulders and tuck the ends securely at the neck area. This look is so elegant, don’t you think?

  4. Shawl style
For this style, simply wrap the folded scarf around your shoulders. I love to wear my blanket scarf this way on chilly evenings.

  5. Simple
Just fold the scarf lengthwise several times along one of the sides. Then drape over the back of your neck. Simple, right? (Hence the name….Obviously.)

3 Tea Flavors Perfect for Fall

tea-flavors-for-fall

Do you love tea? I absolutely love tea. In fact, an entire drawer in my pantry is dedicated to tea. I love a variety of tea flavors and often change my regular tea choices with the seasons. When fall comes, I break out my favorite fall tea flavors.

What could be more cozy than sipping a cup of yummy tea on a crisp fall day?

Below, I list three tea flavors I love to enjoy in the fall. All three of these come from Republic of Tea.

Caramel Apple Red Tea

This is my all-time favorite tea. With its distinct apple flavor with definite hints of caramel, this tea is so delicious. It is an african rooibos that has a natural sweetness. Sugar or honey is unnecessary with this tea. I enjoy mine with a bit of creamer. I like to brew it nice and strong.

From the Republic of Tea: “Sweet African rooibos is the ideal base for smooth caramel and crisp apple flavors. This pleasing caffeine-free blend is wonderful as a dessert tea. Enjoy with a splash of warm milk.”

Pumpkin Spice Black Tea

This sweet, spicy black tea is so tasty. It makes a great pumpkin spice tea latte.

From the Republic of Tea: “Keep Warm and Carry On – Cozy up and sip this warm blend of fine black tea and autumnal spices –cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. Energizing black tea wards off the chill of the crisp, fall season, and a splash of warm milk transforms this tea to pumpkin pie in a cup.”

Hot Apple Cider Tea

This tea tastes very much likes mulled cider. It is spicy and sweet and apple-y and just plain yummy.

Republic of Tea says: “A naturally-caffeine free blend of apples, cinnamon cloves and ginger. Reminiscent of apple cider, with the luscious aroma of cinnamon and cloves, make this cup the perfect accompaniment to the colors of the harvest season.”

If you like tea, you will really enjoy these 3 tea flavors. They are perfect for fall and each one is delicious!

What are your favorite tea flavors for fall? If you’d care to share in the comments, I’d love to know. I’m always looking for new teas to try!

Modest Fashion Friday: Faux Wrap Dress

Welcome back to Modest Fashion Friday. Each week, I feature a modest fashion outfit I have worn recently. Hope you enjoy and maybe even get inspired!

Wrap dresses are so flattering. Often, they are made of knit, which means they’re super comfy. They’re easy to dress up or down. And as a mama with a little nursling, they provide easy access to feed baby.

I have three wrap dresses, but the one I’m featuring here is by far my favorite. The pattern on the fabric is so pretty. I also love that it is actually a faux wrap. That means there is no opening in the skirt, which makes me feel a bit more secure. (Less chance of a wardrobe malfunction, if you know what I mean.) I always wear a tank under my wrap dresses, for modesty’s sake.

Modest Fashion Friday: Transitioning to Fall

modest-fall-maxi-skirt

Transitioning your wardrobe from summer into fall can be a fun challenge. Here in the Northeast, we’re still having some warmer days, but the weather is steadily cooling down as the weeks go by. Now is the time to break out the fall outfits. However, if you’re like me, you may be looking for ways to incorporate some of your summer clothing items into your fall wardrobe, at least as we transition between the seasons. A maxi skirt is a great way to bridge the gap between summer and fall.

I love pairing a pretty, flowing maxi skirt with a denim jacket. This outfit combines a soft knit maxi (featuring a lovely paisley pattern) with a light beige colored denim jacket and a pair of cute open toed booties. It’s a look that can carry me into cooler weather, but still has a light, airy feel for those Indian summer days we’ve been having lately.

This comfy outfit for early fall is a great way to feel put-together and ready for any kind of weather.
