Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Even if you’re not Irish, I think we can all agree there’s something especially appealing about this holiday. It commemorates a man of God who selflessly dedicated his life to the service of others. He followed God’s call to spread the Gospel in Ireland, sharing the love of Christ with them and impacting the entire culture.
Plus, it’s just a fun holiday, don’t you think?
This day is also a special one for our family for another reason. This was my mother-in-law’s birthday. Though she passed away five years ago, she is still dearly loved and greatly missed. Ironically, she had an incredible knack for finding four-leaf-clovers!
In honor of this day, I’m featuring the color green. I’ve been told I have a bit o’ Irish in me, so I’m dressing the part!
This sweater set is one I’ve had for a while. It’s one of those classic pieces that never goes out of style. It is a wardrobe staple that I’ve worn a lot over the years.
The skirt is another floral one. (I seem to be featuring a lot of floral lately!) I love the soft, subtle shade of green in this skirt. The pattern has a slightly romantic feel with the large hydrangeas and broad leaves. It’s not your typical floral skirt, but it fits in beautifully with the color palette of many of my other clothes. I like the double slits on either side of the skirt. They are much more modest than slits in many knee length skirts.
These beige heels are ones I wear often. They are perfect neutrals that truly go with any outfit. The earrings were a gift from my parents several years ago. They picked them up in a little jewelry shop in Edgartown, on Martha’s Vineyard. I love the green stones in these earrings. The finish of the silver has a gorgeous antiqued quality. These are definitely some of my favorite earrings. I paired them with a simple silver chain necklace I’ve had in my collection for many years.
Even if you’re not Irish, wear a little green today. It’s a festive way to join in the spirit of the day!

My Grandma passed away three months ago today, and today would have been her 70th birthday. She didn’t have Irish in her, but she would still collect those green shamrocks, and wear green, and all that. I miss her. But we have hope 🙂
Did you know that protestants should wear orange today, not green? It’s an interesting fact!
So sorry to hear about your Grandmother. It’s not easy losing our loved ones.
I didn’t know about wearing orange. That is interesting. I’ll have to look into it. Thanks for sharing!
Very pretty! Love the neutral on you!
