A very dear friend of ours was married last weekend, and we attended the wedding. This week’s post will highlight my wedding outfit. You’ll also get a glimpse of what some of my kiddos wore as well.
At the end of the post, you’ll find some inspiration for other wedding attire, in case you’re looking for the perfect outfit to wear to a spring or summer wedding.
This pretty chiffon dress came from Old Navy last season. It is so light and airy, and it feels very feminine to wear. I adore the soft blue color and the watercolor effect of the pattern. This dress has a high-low hemline—it’s the only one of these I own presently. The dress is fully lined, though I wore a slip as well for modesty’s sake.
The dress is sleeveless, so I added a flyaway cardigan for coverage and to dress up the look a bit. I got this lovely little cardigan from (where else?) ThredUp. It is light and comfortable—it makes a perfect layering piece for spring.
I chose these sandals because they are dressy enough for an event like a wedding, but they’re still comfortable enough to wear all day. The taupe color blends beautifully with the blues in the dress and cardigan, tying the look together.
The necklace is a fun addition which adds just a hint of sparkle to the outfit without being over the top. It is a longer length, giving a bit more interest to the otherwise simple upper portion of the dress.
Because the necklace is so detailed, I chose earrings that are a bit simpler. They enhance the necklace without completing with it.
I just had to share a pic of my handsome little fellas. Wouldn’t you agree they look very dapper in their coordinating suits? Surprisingly, I picked these up at our local Walmart.

What a fun dress… great color and I love that feminine type of fabric too. 🙂 It is beautiful, fun and looks easy to wear.
Thank you! Yes, it is easy to wear and extremely comfortable but feminine!
Oh my gosh your boys are totally adorable!
Thank you, Nancy! I think so, too! 🙂
I love your outfit & the way you put it together! The colors are lovely : )
Thank you, Anna! That’s sweet of you!
Love the dress. What kind of slip did you wear under it? Don’t see to many ladies who wear slips anymore. I was beginning to think I was the only one. lol
Thank you, Lisa! It had a built in slip, but I also wore a full slip underneath for added “coverage” as it was still a bit see through even with the built in slip. I often wear a slip, depending on the garment. It may be old fashioned, but I’m an old fashioned kind of girl. 😊
