Floral prints aren’t typically something to wear in winter. Especially in a colder climate like where I live, you won’t often find people wearing a lot of florals in the months of November through March. That’s not to say it can’t or shouldn’t be done. Why not break some fashion rules every once in a while?
Personally, I am in love with all things floral. Pretty flowers—whether on fabric, in photos, or in real life—simply make me happy. One look at my Pinterest account will give you an indication of the depth of my love of flowers.
Winter in New England can be long and bleak. Brightening things up with a lovely floral print can chase away a case of cabin fever in a moment. Romantic or cheerful, no matter the season, floral patterns will always have a place in my wardrobe.
This outfit features a pretty floral skirt in a soft shade of blue. The skirt is denim, making it practical as well as pretty. I got the skirt at an Eddie Bauer outlet in New Hampshire many years ago. The blue themed floral print is unusual. This print has such a romantic feel. Roses are my favorite flower, and this skirt is covered in them!
I found this sweater at a thrift store. It was such an amazing find—the price was great and the condition was perfect. I just love how soft the knit is. The fringe adds a bit of texture and the shawl collar lends interest. It feels so cuddly, which makes me love wearing it. The length is nice and long, making it equally easy to tuck in or to leave out. And the color…such a beautiful shade of soft, light blue.
How do you feel about wearing florals in winter? Yay or nay? Please leave your thoughts in the comments.

Thank you, Edwige! That’s so kind of you to say!
This really caught my eye because I’m experimenting with wearing maxis in the winter on my blog this week. Since I don’t see a lot of others doing it, I really wasn’t sure about it.
But this look on you is fabulous!! I can’t believe that sweater is from the thrift store!! That’s a perfect example of the treasures you can uncover!

Thanks, Jodie! I’m not sure why wearing maxis in winter isn’t more common. I love wearing maxis in winter–the length adds extra warmth!
Thrift store shopping is my favorite! I’ve found some pretty amazing deals on beautiful clothing at thrift stores.
